Instructor Marc Mehrotra

Marc Mehrotra

Instructor Marc Mehrotra joined The Greenlake Martial Arts School in January of 2001. Impressed with how functional and direct Tsun Jo Wing Chun® is and how courteous and welcoming the students are, Marc started attending almost all the classes The School had to offer. Just a couple years later, Instructor Marc Mehrotra was invited to join the Tsun Jo® Instructor's Association and started teaching many of the weekday classes. Today, he and Instructor Nicholas Smith run The Greenlake Martial Arts School with the help of all the other Instructors, Assistant Instructors and Si Hings.

Instructor Tom Renouf

Tom Renouf

Interested in learning a functional martial art, Tom began his training at the Greenlake Martial Arts School after participating in a realistic demonstration of the basic skills of the art of Tsun Jo®. Motivated by the dedication of the advanced students and focused attention and encouragement from the instructors, Tom made steady progress toward the advanced levels of training. He currently enjoys teaching beginning and advanced students every Saturday while completing his Masters in Teaching for Western Washington University. Tom's attention to detail and passion for teaching makes him an invaluable part of the Greenlake Martial Arts School and the Tsun Jo® System.

Assistant Instructor Jason Thams

Jason Thams

Since 1990, Jason Thams has trained in a wide range of martial arts, including hapkido, judo, Karate (similar to Shotokan) and Tae Kwon Do. As a member of the Seishin Kan Karate School, he also was taught the history of Japanese martial arts and some basic weapons techniques, including stick fighting, sword, staff, nunchaku, jo, bo and the tonfa. He achieved his 1st degree black belt in 1993 and 2nd degree in 1996 when he became an assistant instructor at the main dojo from 1996 to 1997. After leaving the Seishin Kan Karate School in 1998, he ran his own martial arts school for a while and spent over a year studying Pankration jujitsu. Still in search of a good martial arts system that was practical and "made sense," he began training in Tsun Jo®. Today, Jason Thams teaches beginning and advanced Tsun Jo® and grappling classes at The Greenlake Martial Arts School. Although he likes to pretend to be a tough guy, Jason will never hesitate to answer a students question or help them with their technique. With his vast martial arts background, Jason Thams has become an extremely important member of The Greenlake Martial Arts School.
